Gross Feed-In Tariff For NSW

click to enlarge Commencing 1 January 2010, a gross feed-in tariff (GFiT) for NSW will be providing unprecedented rewards to homeowners who have solar PV installed on their property. The NSW government has recently announced legislation which will allow owners of roof top Solar PV systems to be credited for all the electricity their system produces, not just the excess electricity as per the previous plan.

The GFiT will attract a $0.60 credit for every kilowatt hour of electricity produced for a period of 7 years - not just the kilowatt hours you generate but don't use as before. This incentive rewards producers of Solar PV energy up to a system size cap of 10 kW, so it's also possible for small business and local enterprise to benefit from this tariff with commercial-grade PV systems.

At this stage the GFiT will only be in place for 7 years, so it's vital to get in quick to make the absolute most of this opportunity. Read the Government press release for more info.
