Solar Energy
We believe Solar power is the future of the planet and you can see why.
At Modern we believe solar power is the future of the planet and we are very passionate about this cause. As the cleanest and most abundant renewable energy source available, there is immense potential for solar power. In fact, the proportion of the sun’s rays that reach the earth's surface is enough to satisfy global energy needs 10,000 times over. Needless to say that if all our rooftops had solar panels, clean energy production would far exceed our demand.
- Solar Power Systems Trends:
- People across Australia and the world are joining up and installing solar power systems on their roofs to help combat global warming.
- The solar revolution has arrived and is now one of the fastest growing renewable energy industries on earth.
- China with a population of 1.4 billion is now a leader in Green technology such as solar power, and with advances made is leaping ahead with both domestic and commercial installations. China is on target to achieve its 20% green energy targets by 2020.
World Solar Trends:
Australia truly is the lucky country
As one of the sunniest places on earth we are uniquely positioned to harness our abundance of solar energy better than anyone else on the planet. For example, Germany has an irradiation level of 751 KWh for every square meter per year, whereas Canberra's level is 1386 KWh of sunlight. However Germany is the world’s leading installer of solar power systems, with over 100 times our capacity. It's clear as day to see the huge opportunity we have to make the most of this renewable & clean energy source for now & decades to come.
How is Coal Fired Electricity produced?
- Australia is heavily dependent on fossil fuels such as coal for electricity. More dependant than almost any country in the world. About 80% of electricity generated in Australia comes from coal causing massive greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere.
- Unfortunately fossil fuels are running out, once they are gone, they are gone. We need to start looking at alternative renewable energy sources such as solar before our reserves are exhausted.
- When we've extracted all the earth's coal, oil and gas, there isn't any more for our future generations.
